About Us
ARMSU Logo
Aboriginal Resource & Management Support Unit

ARMSU supports Aboriginal children's services to provide quality care that is culturally safe and appropriate, and meets the needs of Aboriginal children and families. We work in consultation and collaboration with Aboriginal children's services and other support and training providers and actively support the exchange of information and ideas.

Our services include a telephone / email /fax advice and support service, on-site visits, training, resources and hosting State wide meetings of services 3 times each year. Our staff have expertise in child care, OSHC, human resource management, financial management, management committee support, leadership and team building.

ARMSU has a Resource Centre which is utilised by both Aboriginal and mainstream services (go to www.armsu.org.au for more information about our Resource Centre).

ARMSU Logo
The ARMSU logo represents the eight skins or families from whom all Aboriginal people are descended, forming a circle around the hand of a child.

It was designed for ARMSU by Heather Shearer, an Aboriginal artist, and selected by vote at an Aboriginal Services Meeting in 1995 from drawings supplied by Heather.

ARMSU is a service of Network SA Resource, Advisory & Management Services Inc. (www.networksa.org.au). We have provided support, resources, advice and training for Aboriginal children's services in South Australia since 1989 and since 2006 we have been funded by the Australian Government as Indigenous Professional Support Unit (IPSU) for SA. The Indigenous Professional Support Unit is an initiative of the Inclusion and Professional Program of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR).
